I found this one to be especially compelling and interesting. There is lots of great footage of the narrowly averted disaster at the Oroville Dam.

When I was a student, I was impressed by the Canadian engineers' iron ring and wiched such a custom would exist all over the world.

Had this moral engagement spread worldwide, things today would arguably be simpler in such areas as climate change or digital privacy.

Morally and ethically speaking, we engineers of the 21st century are on the level of medieval witch-doctors.

We have the same thing in the US: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Engineer%27s_Ring I don't think most people take it very seriously, you need more than a one time ritual to maintain a strong culture.
