Specifically, those changes are to administrative documents, allowing for them to properly record marriages from other member states, but does not include legal recognition of that marriage.

To comply with the decision, the centrist coalition government in Warsaw announced on Friday that it is planning to make changes to civil paperwork—documents such as marriage certificates—so that they can be used for homosexual couples.

It does not mean that such marriages will be legalized in Poland.

“Current document templates use the terms ‘woman’ and ‘man’, which makes it impossible to correctly enter same-sex marriages [into the registry],” the digital ministry said on its website.

Whether this will smooth the way for some later change to recognize the marriages is outside of my knowledge to speculate, but no legal recognition comes along with these changes.
