I was surprised about the funding for Cooperation Jackson. I first heard of them in an interview with Richard Wolff a year or two ago. I can understand that an organization like that would have some sort of funding overhead but I don't understand why they couldn't be revenue neutral as a "network of labor cooperatives". As a network of labor cooperative, they are "doing a socialism". The existence or necessity for external funding raises suspicion.
I'm not entirely persuaded by his presentation here. I don't know enough about these organizations to pass judgement on them for taking large donations from non-profits. An unanswered message on their facebook page isn't exactly a strong indictment against Cooperation Jackson on its own. Still, it would be nice to see some sort of response to his concerns.
