I'm still not convinced that Boeing has actually worked out all the kinks in their system, but I am fairly confident that NASA is being conservative about what they load their astronauts on.

Of course, the name "Boeing" hardly inspires confidence these days. But truly, the development of this space capsule has been a first for them, being the first time they've ever had to work on a project like this, that was not a guaranteed "blank-check" cost-plus contract. If Boeing is to survive in the 21st century, they are gonna have to relearn how to be a competitive company, and this--while ugly--has been a first step for them. I've already heard rumblings about "Boeing will never take another contract like this", but I hope that's not true. I love SpaceX (misgivings about the CEO notwithstanding) ... but a monopoly is a monopoly.

For better or worse, Boeing just lost a lot of thunder thanks to SpaceX's 4th test flight of Starship, less than a day later.

I would NOT have traveled on that flight, just alone on the delays but boeing?
