I'm a Fedora user and it's easily my favorite distribution, but I do hesitate recommending it to complete beginners because of the bit of work it takes getting full access to proprietary software and getting everything set up just right (why are the dnf presets still so bad?). I wish I could, as I find that it's ultimately the best for the needs of someone concerned with gaming and such, but it's not right giving them that roadblock even if it would save them some down the road.

I really hope this is a more accurate take on it, would be absolutely great to have for beginners without straying too far away from the original, a problem that a lot of derivatives seem to fall into.
