Either US lawmakers are trying to set precedent here (albeit rather late) for other US companies to follow, or they only care when it's Google doing these things.
I don't think Google is doing anything surprising. There was only so long shareholders were going to accept neglecting the Chinese market. All that lost money is heavier than any airy talk about...
