I am curious as to the straw that broke the camel's back, and how this will apply to other twitter users who almost certainly should have been banned ages ago. On the other hand, I doubt that...

On the other hand, I doubt that Twitter operates off of a precedent-system and more likely does some amount of calculus that is largely concerned with revenue streams vs PR.
