      That was my first thought on reading the headline. "That was fast." Isn't GNOME still just gearing up to take on their own patent troll after months? What's it been since Mycroft first posted...

      That was my first thought on reading the headline. "That was fast." Isn't GNOME still just gearing up to take on their own patent troll after months? What's it been since Mycroft first posted about theirs, like a week? Maybe two? They caved basically as soon as Mycroft posted that they weren't just falling over.

        Exactly. The legal process does not move that quickly, and the whole business model of patent trolls requires them to be stubborn and fight to the bitter end. I've never heard of one just rolling...

        I don't have any reason to doubt Mycroft, maybe the patent trolls are up to something else, something unexpected. All I know is what we've seen publicly doesn't ring true.
