@Deimos - The issue is that when one has a crap connection, the submit buttons can be double clicked, or tapped, and then multiple comments are submitted. I first noticed this on mobile, on the the edge of my home wifi coverage.
To reproduce:
set throttling in dev tools to the slowest value.
add a comment here and keep clicking the Post comment button
After the new comment loads, it only displays one. But refresh the page and you will see 2 comments.
It seems like disabling the submit button on first click would be wise. This issue exists on new topic, new comment, and edit comment. Interestingly, double clicking submit on edit will create a second comment.
I can create this as an issue on GitLab once my registration email goes through at some point. It's kinda scary that they can't scale their services correctly, isn't it?
