How is work on Tildes API progressing?

As a user of the Reddit Terminal Viewer (client for the command-line), I'm interested in doing something like that for Tildes (and maybe even an Emacs major-mode) in the future.

I understand doing this kind of thing would be extremely hard without an API, so I'm curious: how are things progressing on that front?

    It's not exactly what you're asking, but if you want to develop against something there's my project that implements the ActivityPub Client to Server specification. ActivityPub is what powers Mastodon, Pleroma, etc, and I'm building a link aggregator similar to tildes, but in smaller scope.
