Coverage of the state of New York Penn Station, the possible imminent demolition of Madison Square Garden (or not, we'll see), through-running proposals to match other advanced transit networks, and the internal agency politics of major transportation infrastructure projects.
I am reminded of this famous quote: "One entered the city like a God; one scuttles in now like a rat." —Vincent Scully on the loss of the grand beaux-arts Penn Station (archive).
Pretty good read- the Beijing-Shanghai HSR definitely isn't a maglev, though.
Thanks for pointing this out. The Beijing–Shanghai line is steel-on-steel HSR. I think the author was getting confused with Shanghai's maglev, which connects the city to the Shanghai Pudong International Airport.
