Here, countries/language zones are simply not that big. Me and my partner live almost half my country away from our parents, but that's 1 or 2 hours by either car or public transport :-P.
But I certainly to feel something like 'Flygskam'. I find myself staying closer to home for holidays so that I do not need to fly. And I hope to attend an academic conference somewhere in the near future, but I'd want to pick one that I can reach by car or train.
