I'm cautiously optimistic about this. Pretty much every TV series based on Neil Gaiman's work or involving him in some way has so far felt a little off to me, but since they have been so consistently off, I have come to suspect that it is just that I am not quite on the same wave length as Gaiman when it comes to his stories being adapted for the screen. So, it could be that I'll be disappointed again.
That being said, the only really off thing that I noticed in the trailer was the depiction of Death. And I have no doubt that I'll grow to like the new depiction if it's done well. Just Death was probably my favourite character in the books and I loved the 80s pop goth style that she had. She was small and delicate, but never vulnerable, always in command. The microsecond that we see of the TV series Death doesn't give this feeling to me at all and naturally I am totally outraged and will cancel my Netflix subscription posthaste and burn all my comics (whether or not they are Sandman). Or maybe not.

Cautiously optimistic.
