At the end of season three Mackenzie Crook, the creator, was offered another season if he wanted it but turned it down because he felt the stories he wanted to tell had been told and I have a huge amount of respect for that decision. Bearing in mind that's UK-length seasons of 7-8 episodes each, so there are just twenty episodes in existence. Ending something at the right time is far better than more seasons that aren't any good. The first episode might feel a bit light, but you watch it, and then you watch the next, and before you know it you've binged them all.
Mackenzie Crook also made Worzel Gummidge -- and it's fantastic if you're looking for something gentle and funny that you can watch with children.
