I was particularly surprised by how quickly they killed Dracula in the show. At first I was thinking it wasn't going to mount to much and that they probably weren't sure if they were getting greenlit for more seasons, but I thought they did a good job with Carmilla and the other vampires. And that set up the whole trajectory for Isaac to free himself - which was a nice contrast to Hector.

I will say that while I liked the inclusion of Death, I found his potty mouth to be a little off-putting. Not because I'm against swearing, it just seemed kind of like...beneath him?

It was definitely a polarizing choice. I actually didn't mind it / almost liked it, but what bothered me more was that they didn't have any time to go into the characterization of death. I think if there was more screen-time dedicated to death committing horrific crimes in the name of feeding off of death (or just more Varney) while juxtaposing against his crudeness (i.e. potty mouth), it could have been better. As it stands, I feels like he shows up, swears, and then dies, which makes the whole thing lack impact. But it was still OK.

Thanks for finding it on YouTube! I should've probably checked if she published videos on their first. I would prefer not to pay wall people if I can help it.

Ah, in that case I will change the link to the youtube one and then edit my above comment to include the Nebula link for people who prefer it.

I don't have much to say beyond that I loved this analysis of Isaac's character growth from a psychological lens. Also, I apologize that this may be pay-walled for many of you, but consider this an endorsement for Nebula which is collectively owned by the video creators and has a lot of interesting topics that I think many Tildeans would like.

Edit: Thanks to cfabbro for finding and editing in the youtube link!
