Blue eye samurai (Netflix) was an unexpected masterpiece for me. The writing, animation, art style and voice acting were all fantastic. Its definitely intended for mature audiences, with plenty of gore, nudity and sex, but with a compelling story above all.
Watched Pluto this weekend. The story is really good! Each episode works as it's own story while tying into the larger narrative and building lore. It makes the climax way more satisfying.
I understand that Pluto is inspired by the old Astro Boy series. Somehow they craft a fairly original world and story, but still feels like they're honoring that original series. I've never watched Astro boy, but that's how this feels to me.
This Fool is a comedy that plays on Mexican American culture in Los Angeles neighborhoods. A relative gets out of prison and tries to adapt to life outside with family.
I find it funny.
