TV Tuesdays Free Talk
Have you watched any TV shows recently you want to discuss? Any shows you want to recommend or are hyped about? Feel free to discuss anything here.
Please just try to provide fair warning of spoilers if you can.
I started watching "From", a horror series that seems to be about a town that you can't escape, with monsters that come out at night. The first 1.5 episodes have been good, I'm looking forward to more. I did have a bit of a problem with
the very first monster attack (spoilers of Episode 1's first 10 minutes)
If I lived in a town where monsters would literally tear my children limb and disembowl them then they wouldn't be alone in their rooms; things would be a lot more secure. The windows would not open, the doors would be locked, and we would probably be huddle together in one singular location that didn't have windows. Having windows that a child can open, when the monsters use windows to try to entice people to let them in is way more immersion breaking to me than the existence of monsters that try to get in your windows, but need you to open the window for some reason. I can respect the world building, but the people within the world should respect the world building as well.
Maybe they are people who are new to the town, though, and didn't truly believe in the horrors? That's what I'm handwaving it away with for now.
