It's really one of the best HBO originals I've seen in quite a while, and has a really unique style. I hope it gets more recognition.

This show passed me by entirely until this weekend when I binged the first season’s 8 episodes. It was way better than I expected considering that I had never heard of it. Has anyone else seen it?...

It has a great concept, but at times in season one - you could tell Hader lacked the acting experience to land certain things. I think he did great for the most part, but at times he delivered things cheesey. The biggest one being where they were going to go after the convey at the air strip and the marine wanted to bum rush them and Hader goes on about I really think surgical is the best way here. The whole speech just wasn't delivered well. You could see what he was going for definitely, but he wasn't hitting it.
Hmm, I didn't feel that particular misfire at the time. Though his character's general awkwardness may have made me give him a pass on that and possibly other scenes. I just saw him in The...

I just saw him in The Skeleton Twins, and he seems to have no major issues with dramatic characters in general.. but since you brought that scene up at the landing strip, I may have to re-watch that to see if I know what you mean.
The final episode had me excited about what might come next.

This show is amazing. I can’t wait for season 2, whenever it’s supposed to come out. Noho hank is probably my favorite character.

Never heard of it. Adding it to my watch list! Thanks!

Oh I am definitely excited. Hader did great. Winkler had me laughing a lot. He told that cop he had info on the case and got her to dinner...
