In my opinion, MST3K should have came back as a monthly special, or something a little more digestible than a 90 minute block of content, times 12. The Gauntlet was an attempt to mix it up a little, but MST3K was always something I fell asleep or did some work to, had on in the background, and maybe it just wasn't a good fit for Netflix's model.
EDIT: As for where it should go next, I dunno. A lot of the value of MST3K is that it has a backlog, and that's everywhere. Maybe they could hock new episodes to Hulu or HBO Max or Pluto or YouTube, but asking a bunch of people to sit for 90 minutes at a time is a big ask, moreso for a binge session.

And its biggest crime was... it just wasn't very good.
