Thoughts on Good Girls?
I've been binging that show hard since … yesterday. (I'm starting season 3 now, don't judge me)
And… wow! A slightly less heavy-handed Breaking Bad. The lead actresses are phenomenal. Most of the kids too, in fact. It's very … gripping. I find it to be less emotionally-charged than most shows of this type that I really like, but also waaayyy more gripping; every single episode I am dying to launch the next one.
First season was fun but to be honest I didn't stick with it much past then. I agree the three lead actors do a great job though.
The third season is making me tune off a little. I'll stick with it since I'm binging the full thing but it has a bit of that OITNB vibe where things just keep getting worse and crazier "because plot".
It's infuriating to see all three of them mismanaging their money so hard to the point that they're getting drops of $50k, $100k, more, and they still run out after a couple of months. Ruby I can understand given the price of the medications, but Beth and Annie take it to a whole different level. (Like, didn't Annie stuff her shirt with maybe $100k in counterfeit at some point? Now she can't afford a toothbrush.)
I'm also kinda wondering where the fuck the IRS is in this story.
