Unfortunately the new season of Netflix's Virgin River is out and my spouse wants to watch it. I will say that the scenery of the place they shoot is absolutely gorgeous. And that is the only nice thing I have to say about the show. The premise is that a nurse practitioner and midwife from Los Angeles moves to a small town in rural California. In this small town, all women under 50 are pregnant, trying to get pregnant, or devastated that they are unable to get pregnant. All women over 50 are town gossips. All men are ex-military, business owners, or drug dealers. There's a lot of manufactured drama between the characters and it's all very predictable and useless.

On the other hand, I'm enjoying rewatching Connections as I mentioned in the last thread. I have 1 more episode to go. Then it's on to The Day the Universe Changed which I've seen much less of.

I wasn't feeling the first two seasons of Star Trek: Discovery, and I still have a lot of gripes (unnecessary sentimentality, emotional conversations, etc.), but this season has been pretty good. This week's episode was no different and I like the direction the series is taking. That being said, I would like to see Michael catch shit for a change... even a 'no' once in a while would suffice.
