We finished up both Lupin, The Repair Shop, and All Creatures Great and Small (3 very different shows 😉 ). We watched the first episode of Beforiegners. It seems decent, if a little cheesy at times. It's in Norwegian with subtitles on HBO Max. The premise is that people from 3 different time periods start showing up in the modern world and nobody knows why. They come from the Stone Age, the Viking age, and the 19th century. The story mainly focuses on an Oslo police officer who often has to investigate issues with the "timegrants" and his new partner, a woman from the Viking age. It's an odd premise, but I'll run with it and see where it goes.

We also watched an episode of Nature from PBS, and discovered that Uma Thurman is now narrating them. She does a spectacular job. The episode, Pumas: Legends of the Ice Mountain was pretty depressing, though, probably because nature is freakin' brutal.

Agreed. There were some stupid points, but overall it was fun enough to overlook them. I really enjoyed it.

For some reason this kind of programme is really popular in the UK and we've had loads over the years (a much more recent example is British Army Girls.

These two do stand out as particularly good though. There's not much critique here. I get the impression that in return for access the film makers had to hold back some commentary -- especially around Northern Ireland in The Paras. But just having cameras there, and not treating the viewers like idiots, means they don't need to do that. We're shown young men who have few options, so they join up. We see men injured in training and having to drop out. And we see that despite the gruelling training these young men aren't really that well prepared.

Both these programmes are set in the 1980s and they do feel like a different time.

The other thing I'm watching is Bull. It's entertaining nonsense. I've got to the start of season 2.
