TV Tuesdays Free Talk
Have you watched any TV shows recently you want to discuss? Any shows you want to recommend or are hyped about? Feel free to discuss anything here.
Please just try to provide fair warning of spoilers if you can.
For All Mankind has gotten really good. I'm glad I stuck with it. I think the season finale is this week. We've got competing Soviet and US bases on the moon, and there have been acts of war committed. Lee Atwater is suggesting he can get Ellen into the White House. All around, a very interesting season. Oh, and Karen told Ed what she did, literally as he's getting in his car to go hop on his flight to the moon. (In her defense, it was his fault she told him. He couldn't let it go.)
We also started watching Atypical. It's the story of an 18 year old guy with ASD. He's finishing up high school and his parents are having trouble letting him go and start becoming independent. His character is fairly high functioning. He starts dating and deciding whether he wants to go to college. I can't speak to how realistic it is, but the stories are well written and the characters are interesting and fun to watch. I think I relate most to his younger sister who's 2 years younger and is just done with her family. It's an ~30 minute show, so it's easy to take in a few episodes a night. We're on season 3 now, and just started watching a week ago.
I'm really liking Invicible so far! A super hero cartoon that is kind of a homage to the DC universe with a dark twist. The pacing is great, the characters and cast are believable and diverse.
The voice acting is excellent, especially JK Simmons as Omni-Man (their twisted version of Super Man).
I love the violence -- graphic, gruesome, creative.
Great character design and 2D animation too -- nothing too fancy, gets the job done.
A really fun story!
Been watching Babylon Berlin and enjoying so far. Am finishing the first season. Great production and characters.
