The United States military withdrawal from Afghanistan has been poorly executed. There's much to criticize, from the lack of coordination with allies who had entered the war at the behest of the Americans, to the lack of understanding regarding the morale and capabilities of the very Afghan forces the US spent 20 years training, amongst many other things.
Despite all this, it's struck me as a bit odd that American Media has taken an almost universally hawkish stance regarding the withdrawal. As much as I disagree at how it was done, I believe that the US withdrawal from Afghanistan is a good thing, one that the American people by and large have been asking for for quite some time now.
