I'm in the endgame for Granblue Fantasy Relink. I love it. Tons of fun. The end game is really where the game opens up but it still has a pretty good story, too. Tons of different characters to play around with and build out to your play style. Supports both co-op and single player.

I'm also about 10 hours into Persona 3 Reload. I'm a huge Persona fan but never played 3. I felt like by having to choose either P3P or FES, I was having to compromise in some way. P3 Reload doesn't give you everything, but it's the closest to a definitive version the game has. And I really like the QoL improvements, new themes for Tartarus, and some of the features brought over from P5.

I bought Helldivers 2 on PC the other day. Pretty fun online shooter. Do not recommend solo though. The game is clearly designed for co-op. It has pretty good matchmaking, but is obviously more fun with friends.

It's nice there are deals but I really don't want to be paying a subscription fee for my notes app. I already have too many subscriptions.

Yeah that's more than I want to do, honestly. I just wish I could put in my OneDrive or Google Drive credentials to my vault settings and have it auto-sync with that service.

I paid for it during the end of 2023 sale and haven't been able to get remote vaults working properly. It's been annoying and I won't be resubscribing.

I hadn't heard of Notesnook before. Looks nice. Don't love that you only get 3 notebooks unless you pay $50/yr though. Maybe I'll look into it again when they release their self-hosted option.

My biggest issue with it is that syncing is a pain in the ass. Google Drive and OneDrive just don't work well enough. Obsidian Sync is too expensive and a pain to configure. And I've had so many conflict issues with syncthing when I tried that. So I've just resorted to manually uploading backups regularly to OneDrive and pulling them down on mobile when I need them.

I bought and played the game on PC when it first released and loved it. PC seemed to be the platform with the least amount of issues and bugs though. I haven't touched the game in a couple years but have been following CDPR's progress with the game over the years with numerous large patches fixing a ton and addressing player feedback.

Ver 2.0 is the culmination of that and it's really what the game should have been at launch. They've revamped the police system, skill trees, and how cyberware works. They added vehicle combat, made the NPC AI way better, changed how the mini map works, improved the inventory AI, and more. I started a new character today when the patch released and even though the missions and story are the same, it feels like a completely different game. I'm trying to get my new character up to the point in the story when the DLC opens up before the DLC actually releases next week and am looking forward to that.

The DLC will add a new 30+ hour story with multiple endings, add a new ending to the main story, add a whole new area to the map to explore, and adds a new skill tree and 2 new radio stations. CDPR has recommended starting a new character in preparation for the DLC because of the massive changes in 2.0, as well.

Beyond the bugs and half-baked systems at launch (e.g. the police system), it was one of my favorite sci-fi RPGs ever in terms of story, characters, writing, and world building. There are some side quests that are just as good as the main story, too. Been a hard recommend for me for a while now - especially as more patches have been released.

I should give that a go soon. Heard about the announcement but haven't tried it. Would love to see a whole new Quake game come from iD. Give it the same treatment Doom got with the 2016 release....

    My addiction to Rimworld remains.

Man, I need to play more. Been a while. It's just such a time sink. I end up playing way too long every time I load it up. lol

Pikmin 4. It's fantastic. Great game to just chill with. I also picked up the Avengers game in the last Steam sale for like $12 or something. It's awful. lol

I looked at Joplin a while ago but haven't really dove into it. I like the sync options for Dropbox and OneDrive built in. Might give it a try and replicate my notes from Obsidian and see how it goes.

It looks like this should work. I'm going to give it a try. Was a little confusing to set up a two way sync without duplicate folders but I think I got it.

Thanks. I'll give that a read. But even then, no Android will be difficult because I want to take my notes on the go. And it still doesn't solve my syncing issue unfortunately.

It looks like it's only available for Linux systems and has to be complied from source? That's a bit too much and I need whatever solution I have to work on Windows and Android.

Looking for recommendations for a multiplatform note taking app. Needs to support Windows and Android. Some things I'm looking for:

    • Markdown support
    • offline/local support (should be stored in an easily accessible and movable format e.g. markdown)
    • is free or only a one time fee
    • Syncing (either a one time fee via app dev or built in support for GDrive or OneDrive)
    • Mind mapping functionality (including linking between notes)
    • flexibility to be both a knowledge base and a place to keep todo lists and general small notes

Obsidian hits most of these features but without paying $8/mo, syncing is a huge pain in the ass. I got it to sync between machines if I store my vaults in Google Drive, but I'd prefer to have them locally then synced. I don't mind paying for software, but I'm trying to avoid another monthly fee on top of everything else I'm paying for. I'm open to staying with Obsidian if I can solve the syncing issues, too.

I'm just taking a break from modding what few subs I'm still a moderator of. I love the /r/redsox community too much to completely leave. But my focus is more on the Discord for now.

Oh nice. I'm a mod over at /r/redsox. Though I've been spending less time in the sub and more in the Discord since Reddit's bullshit.
