I’ve taken my modbus I/O brick home from work and am tinkering with a rust interface to it using tokio. Among my other normal day to day java stuff.

I think a lot of what causes ire is not necessarily the physical statue, some of which are ugly (NBF in Nashville..), but the idea that they were erected in direct protest to the civil rights movements of the 60’s, among other older decades. Couple that with the fact that they seem to be government funded/supported and were lobbied for, makes it a still new and “Uncle Sam supported” wound in the eyes of some of our people here in the US.

I’m all for informational plaques. For museums having the best of the statues. For the information to be there for people to go and see and learn about.

We don’t really need to erect, on gov property, a statue of anyone, to be honest.

I’ve started over. Again. I’m a firefighter (volunteer) and while not completely overweight (age 40@ 175lb @ 5’9”) I need the cardio. My gym across from work is closed so the lifting has been gone. I’ve been lazy.

We had a fire last week. I did well but not well enough. I needed a heat break after cutting holes in the burning roof and smashing some windows. My BP was perfect and pulse ok. I’m just good at catching my limits creeping up.

So the day before yesterday I did a mile. I need to stretch so I can run more of it - and remember to breathe.

But after things cool off today I’ll do another mile, or more, and try to keep it up!
