One thing I noticed is that this guy doesn't have any designer credits on BoardGameGeek, and his games aren't listed on the site. Not that his design advice seemed particularly abnormal, but I don't have any reference point to see the quality of the games produced by this method.

Comment on Who do you go to to learn about the state of PC ports? in ~games

And Steam now tracks positive vs. negative reviews over time, and I think you can filter reviews by date.

Amazon, and in general the online retail environment, has posed a number of challenges for board game publishing in recent years. I appreciate how open Stonemaier is about the business side of board games and I thought this new article might generate some discussion here.

Aside from that, I think it's generally good how many indie games Nintendo is getting on their platform. It feels less like you're missing out if you only have a Switch.
I am a board game player and designer, and I agree with @aphoenix that the paragraphs of rules that you posted above are pretty incomprehensible without (and possibly even with) additional context.
I feel that unless this is a very clearly advertised part of the game experience (on the box and in all marketing material), this will be generally unpleasant for most players. I would personally consider this a defect of any board/card game that is not meant to be some sort of "experimental" or "art piece" game.
