    Exactly. I would have been more than happy to pay for API access, either directly to Reddit or through a third-party app like Apollo. But the problem is, they don't want it; what they really wanted was to kill third-party apps, but were too cowardly to just come out and say it.

    Depending, of course, on their definition of "useful". As we've seen from their definition of "reasonable," that may not hew to the reality the rest of us live in.

    I would almost guarantee that that was a lie. There's zero chance that the CEO of Reddit hasn't used an award-winning app like Apollo, if only to see what it's about.
