AI is in a weird place for me as a developer. It does sometimes make certain aspects of my work faster, in the moment, but usually it also means I miss out on a whole research/discovery process that massively increases my knowledge of a subject, which in turn means other work now becomes slower because I didn't learn as much.
Partly because of that, and because I tend to not trust the AI, I end up using it as a suggestion towards a solution and then look to stackoverflow or the docs to back it up, and make sure i understand it all. That's not really efficient.

I think It is mostly for show, kinda like how, to the average person, a $6 wine will taste better if told it costed $60, except that the old instruments are still great instruments.

You can still host LAN/private games with friends, and you can even create a private matchmaking queue with a shared code as access (which in theory could be used by a community to soft ban suspicious players).
Ofc these games won't affect your rating or give xp for drops, but who cares.

It took me 2 years and 3 install-uninstall cycles before I actually played Doom (2016)... I think I've listened to the soundtrack for 10x longer than my played hours though.
