Stories where the main character succumbs to "evil"
The title pretty much says it all. The "evil" could be just switching sides to what was initially thought as the antagonizing force, or could be giving in to what we as the reader know is evil....

It's too easy to get distracted by my phone trying to use the kindle app, while an e-reader isn't actively demanding my attention. I like that it isn't busy.

Muraenidae I read the unabridged version on my kindle, and I was shocked to see how big a book it actually is. I flew right through it and would have enjoyed more of the story after it ended. Also, Pet Sematary is a good read. I didn't find it particularly scary, but it does make you think and feel a lot of things. Salem's Lot as well. Basically, King has a lot of great reads to start off with.

Thank you, I appreciate the recommendation. I'll find it and try and make an epub for my e-reader. Sounds exactly like what I am looking for!
