The other outcome of this mess is the huge loss of users and their content. Once those leave then so does the profitability of the site.
As for increasing the ipo that will back fire as they will be loosing far more userser then they will gain. Making them a loosing bet.
If another reddit clone reached out to the devs of the 3rd party apps they could jump their user base overnight with this huge outrage.
