He absolutely can't stand the thought of Triss getting tortured, but he knows she is an incredibly strong sorceress able to withstand it. In my opinion, in that specific scene, Triss would have been gravely insulted if Geralt played the white grey knight for her.

Nah, you just called out the most-goty awards winning game of all time's writing "atrocious" without backing up your claim and spouted some nonsense about "an organ harvesting story is just an excuse to show 3 minutes of tits", I can't take that shit serious.

Opponents like to argue that it doesn't because it only makes it more difficult or impossible for law-abiding innocent people to get weapons but not for criminals, which gives the latter an advantage.

This is why in Jacksonville, everyone in the room instantly shot back at the attacker, incapacitating him without problems and continuing to play games happily afterwards. After they applauded, of course.

Oh no, they portray sexism so they must be sexist. :)

I wish CD Projekt RED would be even 1% less transparent with their sexism.

I remember being uncomfortable as well and in fact I killed everyone of the fanatics bastards basically immediately.

In my opinion, this is a good thing and I fully expect to be made uncomfortable by Cyberpunk2077, too.

Just because the game portrays sexism, racism and the abuse of power doesn't mean it supports it. And, in my humble opinion, not even is not portraying this in a political game (and a game about social structures like the witcher is and cyberpunk will be) extremely dangerous; but portraying these -isms as never going unpunished and "the good, anti-sexist/racist will always win" is a childish approach to the dangers of prejudice of all kinds. It's exactly what Witcher stands for, to be honest, and so will Cyberpunk if done right - or at least to my taste. Sexism and prejudice and inequality exist because people are that way and get away with it. Portraying them getting away with it most of the time is exactly what needs to be done to make people feel uncomfortable, because you need to make people feel uncomfortable to change the world.

It must be shown, and the offender must get away with it or profit from it, there must not be a "solution" to the conflict, no right choice, no happy end. You have to deny the player their catharsis so they will be forced to seek it in real life. Not in all cases, obviously (remember how good it felt to slay these bastards?) but at least in some. This is why the depiction of racism and sexism in Witcher is genius. The assholes get away with it, and sometimes even a overpowered mutant is powerless to do anything against it.

Now I fully understand why it might be too much for some. No need to expose yourself to something you don't enjoy, nobody is forcing you. But I just love this uncensored approach.

Torture is brutal, racism and sexism are infuriating, but it happens. To provide a simple power and revenge fantasy is not what I would expect Cyberpunk2077 will do.
