    But what if he dies before you? Or at the same time, in a freak accident? My wife knows how to access my passwords, but it's certainly something I've thought about. Then again, as someone mentioned above, most of the "important" stuff can be accessed offline, and social media accounts will just fade away as they should.

    The sector of industry that I work in, Environmental and Mining consulting certainly feels like this at times. I work for a company who's primary purpose is to do the permitting paperwork for mining companies to file with regulators. It feels like we don't DO anything. We don't actually produce anything. We don't offer any oversight. We help them fill out paperwork. Obviously there's a bit more nuance than that, but it's not far from the truth.
