That second to last clip cemented it. It's the return of the buddy cop movies. Just waiting for Godzilla to roar "I'm too old for this shit".

For all the old fogies out there, I'll give some slightly older/probably-not-found-on-streaming-services options:

    • Bigg Ocean Mobb IV-1-5 - I dislike gangster rap as a general rule, but this gangter-lite album is miles ahead of just about any other artist in the genre.
    • Bongos, Bass, & Bob - Penn Gillette had a band. Nuff said.
    • D.O.A. - If you are a fan of hardcore, you know them, they named the damn genre. When talking about the early hardcore pioneers, I constantly hear about Bad Brains, Black Flag, Minor Threat, etc. And that's justified. But I rarely hear about D.O.A., easily one of the best of the genre.
    • Follow For Now - An Atlanta-based band that will undoubtedly bring comparison to Living Colour/Fishbone, which is somewhat deserved, especially since their single album easily matches anything by the previously mentioned. Friend gifted me their album around the time it came out and it quickly became one of my "deserted island" albums.
    • K.M.D. - If you're a fan of MF Doom, you probably know them. Their first album is pure brilliance.
    • The New Duncan Imperials - If you're from the Chicago area and are old enough to be getting invites from AARP, you know them.
    • Andy Prieboy - You may know him as the singer of Wall of Voodoo (not "Mexican Radio" - different singer), but his solo albums are works of art. Multiple genres and master wordsmithy abound.
    • Limbomaniacs - One of my guilty pleasures. Not exactly high culture art, but it's hard not to get the blood pumping.
    • MC 900 Ft Jesus - Some may know him from "Truth Is Out Of Style" or "If I Only Had A Brain", but he's much more than that. Master class in experimental/jazz/hip hop.
    • Reverend Billy C. Wirtz - One of the greatest comedy musical acts ever. Nuff said.
