Comment on Which anime would you guys recommend for someone who just started watching anime? in ~anime
Wizhi There's already been quite a few comments recommending Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood. I totally agree with this recommendation, however, I'd suggest watching the first Fullmetal Alchemist...There's already been quite a few comments recommending Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood.
I totally agree with this recommendation, however, I'd suggest watching the first Fullmetal Alchemist adaption from 2003 before Brotherhood.
The original 2003 adaption aired while the manga was still being written. This caused the anime to have to diverge from the mangas story around midway through it's runtime (much like HBO's Game of Thrones and GRRM's A Song of Ice and Fire).
The newer adaption, Brotherhood, adapts the original manga's story in full. There's one big catch though: it expects you to have seen the 2003 adaption. There's quite a lot of setup and character development done in the 2003 adaption (from the manga), which Brotherhood glances over. This causes some important scenes in Brotherhood (which were better adapted in the 2003 version) to loose much of their impact - including one specific scene which the series is otherwise quite well known for.
The 2003 adaptions alternate story and ending, while in my opinion worse than Brotherhood's, is also worth the watch. The series itself doesn't properly wrap things up though, so you have to watch it's sequel movie The Conqueror of Shamballa as well.

Comment on What have you been watching/reading this week? (Anime/Manga) in ~anime
Wizhi The new season will supposedly be a continuation of the 3 recap movies. I haven't watched them myself (yet), but some story elements seem to have been changed - so you might need to watch them as...The new season will supposedly be a continuation of the 3 recap movies.

Just a heads up. :)
I have to force myself to work on the final paper for my bachelors degree.
I've neglected it for the past 2.5 months now, leaving me with 12 days to put together the 25ish pages I'm missing. Somehow I've just lost all my enthusiasm for the thing, and just want the final exams over with so I can get my degree and move on.
