    Also have to leave a few carrots for the reindeer, and some fresh green grass. Hunting for the green grass was a great way to keep the kids busy, as there's not a lot around in summer!

    I'm from regional Victoria, Australia. We'd usually leave Santa a beer and a cheese platter, he ate like a king at ours!

    I'm a fan of really strong mints (a holdover from my regrettable smoking days), and bonus if they don't come in a rattly tin. I especially like Fisherman's Friends. You have to go the original...

    I'm a fan of really strong mints (a holdover from my regrettable smoking days), and bonus if they don't come in a rattly tin. I especially like Fisherman's Friends. You have to go the original extra-strong though, it should feel like you're getting a minty kick in the mouth. You can also keep a packet of these in your pocket all day and they won't get soft and horrible.

    My favourite is the Vicar of Dibley's "The Christmas Lunch Incident", where she's invited to multiple Christmas lunches with her parishioners, but is too polite to turn any of them down. I think...

    My favourite is the Vicar of Dibley's "The Christmas Lunch Incident", where she's invited to multiple Christmas lunches with her parishioners, but is too polite to turn any of them down. I think I've watched it during the holiday period every year for the last 20+ years, and I still laugh every time.

    Even on the glaciers ... the melting ice is revealing spent and live ammunition left over from high mountain training which took place decades ago.
