f15htastic Thanks for posting Whisker Squadron, it's a new one to me and I'm always on the lookout for games to pour into the Star Fox-shaped hole in my life! I've also found Astrodogs which I have picked up but haven't had a chance to play yet so I can't personally vouch for it. Looks like good stuff though and might be worth a go if you're experiencing the same Star Fox drought.

f15htastic This confused me - I thought they just canned the vast majority of the planned PVE content? But this seemed not insubstantial. This confused me - I thought they just canned the vast majority of the planned PVE content? But this seemed not insubstantial.

f15htastic I bet Microsoft is making them, at least the controller. Perhaps Microsoft will be willing to put more money into it as peripherals for their platform, but Bethesda has a terrible track record with their tat.
I bet Microsoft is making them, at least the controller. They've been doing their "Xbox Design Lab" with custom colours and decals for controllers for awhile now so I'd be surprised if these didn't get shoved down the same pipeline. The controller looked pretty swish, though I wouldn't pre-order any game for it. I might pick one up if they're sold separately.
I played it with some friends on Friday and had a decent time.
I think we played the wrong mode though - 254-player conquest was a bit too chaotic and unreadable. It ended up just being fatiguing and meat-grindery. We'll probably try the 128-player mode this week and I expect we'll have a better time - we play Battlefield and similar games for the chaos and craziness but the sheer amount of it made it less enjoyable.
For me, in particular, I'm a compulsive medic so big meat-grinder sections (such as the subway tunnels, I forget what the map is called) just turn into me holding the revive and heal buttons which is less fun.
