I upgraded GPU when Cyberpunk came out (1070->3070), funny enough I upgraded GPUs for Witcher 3 as well (570->970), damn CDPR driving me to upgrade... I got the 1070 because I mined for a little while and it made sense, kind of paid for itself but since I got a 1440p monitor, demands shot up a little so it didn't last as long as I planned. I also upgraded my CPU but it wasn't for any games, I just felt like it was time (4790k->5800X) especially since I tend to use VMs a lot but it was just one of many small reasons I wanted to upgrade.

Looked fantastic but Exodus was merely decent as it had a few game-breaking bugs (which still existed when I played a year later and again on my replay) while featuring raytracing without it being useful unless you were okay with 30fps. Control was a wonderful game from a technical standpoint (again, didn't play on release since it was another Epic exclusive, but when I did play it I was amazed by how well it ran) so no arguments here. RDR2 was and I believe still is a horrible port with many performance issues, a poster child for bad console ports. Sure, all three look great, but performance matters and the performance roulette for console ports gets spun every time one of those games come out.

Domestic Girlfriend used to be a guilty pleasure but the author managed to fuck that up royally.

Since I prefer romance in my 'anime' (I include manga and light novels in anime here) over action, I rarely have anything in common with other weebs to talk about so I'm not too forthcoming about it unless I get the impression the other person shares my interests.

Unfortunately, any action asking for change seems doomed at this point since people can't look a little beyond their interests. The mods coordinating the blackout messed up by making it too much about mods using 3rd party tools instead of users being unable to choose, so the usual negative sentiments around mods ruined any chance for any sort of solidarity from unaffected users.
