For caps I almost exclusively use MT3 but that might change with MTNU. SA is too high and smooth (Oblivion and Handarbeit both). Also since most people can't get used to MT3 the bulk of my sets were second hand new in box until Drop did their 2023 sales ($39 for an MT3 base kit? whew)
In rotation:
- Mode Sonnet all copper with bitter tea tactiles, MT3 Serika Nihon
- Tiger Lite with Gateron Oil Kings all foams, MT3 WOB
- Zoom75 with KTT Waveriders no foams, SA Handarbeit
- QK75 with U4Tx all foams, devtty base
Needs repair:
- Keychron Q1v2 with Haimu Silent Whispers and devtty Nihon
Limbo:
- Leopold TKL with Cherry MX Blues (10 years old this year!)
- Niz Plum 87 35g (too light for both me and partner)
- Filco Majestouch TKL (PCB died, made it to 13 years old or so)
- Drop Alt with Outemu silent limes (ugh I regret everything bout this board, except that it was a hackathon prize)
Donated to partner:
- Topre 55g TKL
- Keychron V1 with Jwick T1s
Loaned to excolleague: Monsgeek M1 with S2V2 switches and no foams, MT3 Cyber
Plan to gift a TKL (maybe a Monsgeek) to a supportive engineering manager. Gifted a Monsgeek M1 with Box Pinks and MT3 Susuwatari to a really kind friend.
I justify the above as being cheaper than therapy. The "fancy" boards were all accumulated in a job I hated - should've realised I had a problem when I bought the third board and not like, the sixth, after using the Leopold TKL for about 8 years. Made it almost to a year and finally, finally realising my dream of being a full on developer.

Thanks, it's lovely to be here!
Isn't that the way.
Yea, the little one is sick again this week. I was definitely not expecting kids to expand to fill all available free time and then some, even with lots of extended family help. Hope you and yours (you didn't specify configuration, I am assuming) are enjoying summer in good health, and everyone is sleeping well.

Building is super therapeutic for me so I have too many boards ;A;
For clack, assuming no change to board, both switches and plates factor into sound:
- plate: try a carbon fibre one? e.g. CF plate vs PC plate
- switches by weight, easy to buy:
- Lighter-than-browns: Akko Lavender Purples (35g actuation)
- Kind-of-like-browns: Wuque Studios tactiles (WQ heavy tactiles, WQ browns: 45-55g), but factory lubed so they'll be smoother and have less of the sshhhh spring ping sound
- Heavier-than-browns: Gateron Azure Dragon (60g actuation, sharp bump)
I loved this video where an aerospace engineer goes into way too much detail on what factors affect keyboard sound, hope you enjoy it too: Keybored on clack or thock

.I work in data and am hoping to transition into proper software engineering this year, somehow.
In my free time I have a child, but I used to be into fountain pens and keyboards and a few other things. -

I have an old web scraper for job descriptions that is currently broken. I am working on getting it up again and getting an ETL pipeline up from raw > BigQuery > undecided visualisation tool, maybe Looker / or a web site. I want to remake it with proper software engineering principles basically, the old version was locally hosted and analysis was mostly adhoc.
It has served me well in the past to:
- point me in the direction of the most liquid markets for my skill set
- negotiating terms with employers (aka knowing my worth)
Hiya! Just take the keyboard apart and give it a wipe with a wet wipe will do I think. I would only dare wash my caps, but not my switches or any other parts.
This is pretty funny and may help you: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7-52JsgdvsA
