The female is a super-confident 5 lb white persian, who is sure she owns the house. 25 people here for a party? She's walking around like it's an empty house with her tail straight up in the air.

The male is just smart enough to find the food dish. his hobbies include staring at the wall, and not understanding. Cat intelligence is highly overrated, because he's also just the sweetest boy cat ever. He doesn't know how to be aggressive, I have never heard him hiss.

A number of other fun invertebrates as well.

I've been on a cruise before, never again, none of the activities that you can realistically do on a boat I enjoy, and there is no way off the boat. Also, people everywhere, the only way to not be around them is to be in what amounts to a steel prison cell. Did I mention pretty much no internet access?

I'm a Principal Scientist/R&D Group Leader for the largest research chemical distributer in the world, we carried Ark Pharm's catalog on our website. My group ordered starting materials through them as well, as did at least 30 of the largest pharma companies.

This is like if you found out the car company Kia was raided by the government, sure they aren't the biggest player, but you see them a lot, and lots of noncriminals have them.

They sold a lot of chemicals, I think their catalog was something like 300,000 compounds, it appears they just didn't give two shits about doing it legally and getting the proper licenses, or checking to see if their customers did either. I don't believe selling illicit drugs was their primary focus, it's just something they didn't take pains to not do, which you really have to do in the business if you want to avoid going to prison.

I work in the field, Ark Pharm did a lot of business with academics and large pharma companies, they were seen as a legit chemical supplier, which is why this is so surprising.

They weren't a major one, but still everyone knew them. I never said the company wasn't in the wrong, they certainly are.

Everyone where I am still says Aldrich! We say MilliporeSigma, but it doesn't feel real, especially since the real name of the company is Merck KgaA.

Once you get a job, no one cares what your degree is in. I have trouble telling who has a BS and who has a PhD at work.

Unless there is absolutely something that you absolutely must do in your life that you absolutely must have a PhD for, I would suggest skipping it, especially in computer science.

I like having a greater voice in the strategic direction of the company, and I like solving problems for customers and making cool chemical available for other chemists.
