I'd love to see this game with procedurally generated systems and dedicated servers, but unfortunately I doubt that will happen.

I'm not sure if that will be taken to federal court, but if it holds up it will only take a few states adopting that to make it a de facto requirement. Even if a candidate isn't an option in a few states they wouldn't have one, assuming they're a non-write-in state like mine, that will send a TON of votes to 3rd parties and likely put the Libertarian and Green parties over a few key thresholds for national recognition. (5% for federal campaign funding, and whatever other % for various televised debate attendance)
I think they'll have to cave.

Everyone has their own tastes in what games they like, and that's okay. One thing I enjoy doing is, whenever I have a group of friend over, trying to think of which game (if any) all the people present would enjoy. If there isn't one then I don't recommend playing a game.
Perhaps, rather than trying to 'like' games you don't enjoy, you could just expand on the games you do enjoy so that when all your friends are over there are more options available that all people know and like.
Someone else mentioned Pandemic, which I will second. It's co-op (players vs the board game/disease). Find several like that and I think you and your friends will have a great time.

I'll play Fortress mode for a while and generate tons of steel weapons, armor, etc, then abandon the fortress. Then I'll switch to Adventure mode, walk to the abandoned fortress, and stock up on all the masterwork gear I left behind.
I do believe the correct thing to do is to give users the ability to delete their posts, but it's only a matter of time before there's a ceddit or removeddit type site for tildes which ensures nothing ever truly gets deleted.
