    I understand exactly why you're taking their side, but I don't believe I did anything that attacked their character. That person made sweeping statements about a certain type of food, I said that it seemed that they had a narrow view on food, and he continued to lob insults when my initial question was on the topic of how to tag food posts. I could've taken their route and responded with rude statements about the food that they eat, but I didn't. But sure, I guess I was in the wrong and they weren't. That's fine. As I mentioned, I have little to no interest to talk about food here anymore.

The tags were being used as downvotes and they worked, I've abandoned the conversation and won't attempt to talk about food here anymore.

    His primary complaint was not that he disliked all vegan food, just that he dislikes recipes that are traditionally non-vegan but try to hide the fact they have been modified to be vegan without notifying people first, which is a fair complaint.

    And my response to that was to continue the conversation about tags that we were having, until he started insulting vegan food.

    It could be true that he didn't go through our conversation and tag everything as Flame, but someone did, and that makes me pretty unwilling to have discussions about food here anymore. I've already abandoned the conversation with him because I was tired of every comment of mine being tagged when I was only responding to his statements about vegan food being soul sucking bastardizations by saying that he seemed to have a narrow view of what good food was.

    Tags are currently being used as downvotes, and it's working. I gave up the conversation.

    As it is, having a whole string of my comments anonymously negatively tagged has left a bad taste in my mouth and makes me hesitant to contribute more, at least for the time being.

I only saw one last time I tried to contribute to that conversation, but when someone just keeps calling your lifestyle soul sucking and your food a worse and bastardized version of the standard fare, and every comment you make gets a negative tag added to it, you tend to abandon the conversation because it's increasingly less friendly.

    Noise and Flame are the new downvote, I've already gotten tagged as well. I'm not sure I'm a fan of comment tags as they currently exist.

    If that's the case, then I agree that that's bs and isn't fair at all, streamers should all be held to the same standards regardless of gender or quality of stream.

    I've already had someone tag several of my comments as Flame because I was talking about vegan food and my reluctance to post about vegan food because of the abuse frequently received as a response to using the v-word on reddit. This was after a couple of people told me I wouldn't face any such abuse here, too, so I guess they were / I was wrong about the community that's growing on ~ already. It's definitely affected how I feel about contributing comments and content.

    I don't really think that listing entire games from different genres is cherry picking, no. Look at earlier Halo games and more recent ones, and it's clear that Cortana is more and more sexualize....

    Look at earlier Halo games and more recent ones, and it's clear that Cortana is more and more sexualize. She basically has nipples now. I never even mentioned Morrigan, and while I agree that Bayonetta could've originated as satire she's come all the way back around by this point and is just ridiculous again.

    What about the rest?

    If your mention of celebrating the body of a woman is a reference to my other comment about certain kinds of female streamers on twitch, the difference is that those woman are using their own sexuality to appeal to men while the characters are created by men to appeal to men. Why is it a problem for a woman to use her own sexuality but it isn't an issue when others create an overly sexual female to appeal to male gamers?

Just because a dish has meat and dairy in it doesn't mean that's the standard and the only way to have an enjoyable meal.

    I don't know if I necessarily agree that "titty streams" are a problem in that way; I think they're distasteful but I prefer them over pornographic video game characters. One is male developers...

One is male developers catering to a male audience with female sexuality, and the other is a female using her own sexuality to appeal to a male audience.
