Splitting from Activision isn't simple for Blizzard from what I understand. Bungie was just a studio owned by Activision and they had a contract for X amount of years which I'm assuming they bought themselves out of. Blizzard however is an actual part of Activision and their companies are treated as the same company because they weren't actually bought but merged into one corporation.
