    Gonna back up what @StellarV said; I tried Beyond Burger and it just tasted like another veggie patty. The Impossible Burger though...if I had been told it was a beef burger I would have honestly...

    Gonna back up what @StellarV said; I tried Beyond Burger and it just tasted like another veggie patty. The Impossible Burger though...if I had been told it was a beef burger I would have honestly been fooled. Definitely give it a shot if there's any restaurant around that sells them (they're not available for consumers yet AFAIK)

    There's a bit of confusion based on the terminology @dainumer used. Impossible Burger/Beyond Burger are not making "synthetic meat" i.e. lab grown meat. They're focusing on using plant and microbial ingredients to make the most convincing meat-substitute possible. Which I think is going to be the future of protein if we're being realistic long term about lab-grown meat and sustainability.

    It looks like Finless Foods however is actually doing lab-grown fish. So that's pretty interesting.
