Am Danish, so I support my local soccer team, Brøndby. We had a hell of a season but pissed away the championship in the most brutal fashion, suffering two late goals against the unfancied Horsens and bottling it at home to eventual winners FC Midtjylland. With our goalkeeper and star striker leaving, I'm sceptical that we'll be able to mount a title challenge next year, but coach Zorniger has been great so I'm trying to keep the faith.

Obviously also rooting for Denmark at the World Cup. We were lucky to beat Peru but I'm hoping we can squeak by Australia and make the round of 16. Doubt we'll go any further than that, but who knows ...

I've also got an inexplicable fondness for Glasgow minions Partick Thistle. Been on two pilgrimages to see them play and own about 13 jerseys and 300-odd match programmes and just about threw my computer across the living room when I watched them get relegated a month ago. I hate football :-(

As for US sports, I'm a Pens fan because I liked Mario Lemieux when I was a kid, a Pacers fan because my total absence of athleticism meant I only liked shooting 3's like Reggie Miller, a Cubs fan because I liked the fact that they never won (need to find a new baseball team) and a Packers fan because I enjoyed watching Brett Favre when I was getting into the sports. Ironically, I now far prefer watching defense-first teams which has made it hard to support the Dom Capers era Packers but I'm not so much of a football hipster that I can't appreciate Aaron Rodgers' greatness.

Nowadays I barely watch any other sports than soccer, though. A competitive, wildly complex fantasy Premier League game takes up most of my designated sports time during the week and like others have said, the NFL's treatment of head injuries makes it hard to watch football.

How about a system in which you would gild someone for being a valuable contributor in general rather than visibly gilding a particular post? Being gilded would then jump you up the ladder of the trust system for the tildes group in question. I suppose this could be abused by someone wanting to buy their way to power but I feel like this could easily be prevented by only giving trusted users the ability to gild others.

Agreed on those two, although I find #1 Record/Radio City far, far superior to Third/Sister Lovers. The Ballad Of El Goodo, Thirteen, Give Me Another Chance, Try Again, Way Out West and I'm In Love With A Girl are all perfect sappy songs and there's enough grit (Don't Lie To Me, O My Soul, Feel) to balance things out brilliantly. Just a near-perfect power pop band all round.
