I've been re-watching Full Metal Alchemist: Brotherhood.

I have love/hate relationship[1] with the series, I love the characters and the setting, but the pacing is awful, I've only watched the series once when it was still ongoing and I even had to rewatch a few episodes because of how fast things go.

I don't remember much from the 2003's series, but I didn't recall any pacing problems there, (I still remember the series going south in the second half, though).

I could just read the manga (and maybe I will), but I have nostalgia for the latino dubs which are iconic on this region :)

[1]: not really a love/hate relationship, I just want to enjoy the series, but the pacing is a problem
Also is really tiring that all the jokes are just "Edward is short" and nothing more beyond that.

Action was very poppy, though and bootstrapped my anime journey

I binged Blue Period on Netflix.

I don’t actually have much to say about it. I really liked one of the side characters, to the point that I almost wished the show was about them instead. To be honest the thing that makes the show worth watching is what makes the main character kind of boring; he’s so focused on his goal he basically sacrifices his personality to his goal. The most memorable thing about the series is probably the funny faces the characters made throughout them.

One thing that happens again and again that I liked is how often the main character chides himself for thinking “too superficially”. I wish everyone could have those epiphanies as often.

So I just found out that one of my underdog favorites in the anime sphere, Yasuhiro Yoshiura, just had a movie get a US theatrical release.

And it literally just passed by without me even knowing about it.

And it’s so fricking weird because this is right after the limited theatrical release of Belle. I feel like I am a kid again wanting to see Pixar’s A Bug’s Life, but instead confused parents took me to see Dreamworks’ Antz. And just like then, these movies also have a bunch of superficial things in common. Though to be honest, I am not sure which of these movies I would have preferred to see if I actually had a choice. And right now I am really pissed off that there’s no way for me to buy or otherwise watch either of these films. I’d like to have them both on blu-ray.
