So, I've always hated canned food, and thankfully my family did not use canned ingredients as often when I grew up, but recently I tried Moroccan sardines in olive oil, and let me tell you they have become my favorite type of fish, I haven't tried many recipes or combinations but they go pretty well with toast and fried beans at dinner time. The oil does an amazing job diluting the fishy flavors that are normally augmented during preservation.

And the best of all is that, at least where I live, they're not that expensive compared against other brands of canned sardines I've tried in the past (which I despise).

I don't know about brands availability for everyone but if you happen to go to the supermarket and see canned sardines in olive oil from Morocco or any other west Mediterranean country, consider buying them.

I finished Hylics 2 and it has become one of my favorites RPGs, even though the artstyle is amazing, what I liked the most was the gameplay, it feels close to SMT on how the fights flow but it's not as punishing. I tried to collect as much as I could and noticed the enemies do not respawn in the whole game, so it seems to have a finite amount of fights which is a very rare thing to see in an RPG, anyways the game is great and made me want to play Hylics 1. I also checked other games by Mason Lindroth, and all of the oozed with style.

Also, I picked Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze for the Wii U, to finish my journey of playing all the DKC games. So far it's been great, it's so much better than DKC Returns, but a bit more on the easier side (either that or I'm getting better at playing DKC games), the only thing I feel as tiring is the length of the boss fights, which are not difficult but feel so long. But beside that small issue, it can probably my second favorite game in the series after DKC2.

Last time, I played the Donkey Kong Country Trilogy, and this Sunday I finished DKC Returns for the 3DS.

My reaction? It was OK. A bit bland, especially on the art style if you compare it to the SNES games, but overall it was neither bad nor great.

The highlight of the game by far was this jazzy version of "DK Island Swing" that was used on the silhouette levels: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vodDCR29vTs

However, what I really didn't like was how small the characters appear on the 3DS screen. This is obviously due to the game being a port from a Wii game, but it certainly affected me on some levels, particularly when you move too fast.

I'll probably forget everything about it in a week or two, so yeah, there's not much to talk about it.

I also started to play Fable Anniversary on PC.

I remember I played the original back in the day (also on PC), but I didn't get that far on the story because I got lost on what I needed to do. I love how cozy the art style looks and I don't mind the simple battle mechanics because that's not the main focus of the game, and also I'm impressed by how interactive the game is, especially for a game that was originally released in 2004.

31 Minutos is a Chilean TV show, but more than that, it's an institution of Latin American children's programming. Known for being equal parts educational and just plain silly, it's smart, cutting and dynamic in its presentation of Chilean social issues and broader culture. In between classic rock refrains characteristic of the Southern Cone and cutesy choral moments, the puppeteers and musicians of 31 Minutos transform the Desk into a true playground. Everyone is invited to sing, dance, laugh and celebrate the show's first trip ever to the United States.

    SET LIST

    • "Mi Equilibrio Espiritual"
    • "Bailan sin Cesar"
    • "Objeción Denegada"
    • "Calurosa Navidad"
    • "Mi Muñeca me Habló"
    • "Arwrarwrirwrarwro"

That's my main issue with metroidvanias in general, most of them are not that fun to backtrack and that's why I don't play them often. For me it would be better if Hollow Knight and/or Silksong were linear games.

That being said the only metroidvanias I can tolerate are the Castlevania ones because the artstyle and the music makes the backtracking so much fun.

Just finished playing the original Donkey Kong Country trilogy for the Super Famicom (SNES).

    Here's a quick review:

    • DKC1: Solid game, a really good place to start, the difficulty curve was smooth with one or two levels being frustrating but never unfair.
    • DKC2: This is the hardest one, and probably on the hardest games on the SNES, still it never feels unfair because of how smooth the controls are, this one has the best level designs in my opinion and the best final boss I've played against.
    • DKC3: Not a bad game but not as good as the previous 2, I love the artwork at the overworld but sadly the levels are way too easy to be memorable. The most annoying thing about this one by far was the cry of Kiddy Kong when you lose, but still not a bad game at all.

I love the combination of flavors since I like the spiciness of habanero but I found them too sour for my taste, so the maracuya's sweetness balances things off.

Since it's home made it has to be refrigirated, but it goes well with most foods.

    • Finished playing Split Fiction and the ending was amazing, this is one of the best experiences I've ever had, the best thing is that I can't even think of what genre of game I would classify it as. It has a little bit of everything, and everything plays really well. Definitely my GOTY.

    • Playing 999: Nine Hours, Nine Persons, Nine Doors: So far, no strong opinion of it, it's ok, it's neither easy nor hard, the characters are OK, and the biggest impression I have had of the game is when the puzzles make me go "huh".
I read it has multiple endings. I'm playing it blindly, so if I happen to like whatever ending I get, I'll go try to see the rest of them, but we'll see.

    • Playing Donkey Kong Country for the Super Famicom, I've never finished any DK game, and I'm trying to play the ones I own in release order. Even back then, I thought the SNES games looked way better than the N64 ones, and time has confirmed this to me. It's amazing how this game looks and plays. And yeah, it's tough as nails, but not in a BS way.

    • My gf convinced me to play Hollow Knight, and while it plays smoothly and feels incredibly polished, I honestly can’t stand metroidvanias. I find the constant backtracking and lack of clear direction frustrating. That said, the visuals are stunning and the controls are tight and responsive. I just wish a game this well-crafted had a more linear structure, something that maintained the pacing better, because when you're in the flow, it’s genuinely enjoyable to play.

Heck, with AI, the actual video itself is unreliable

I also just was not a fan of the art styles for the ships (and the very RNG based method of getting new ship parts).

I've been playing Split Fiction, and wow, this game does so many types of gameplays and does all of them right, definitely my game of the year, the only negative that I can find is that the characters talk way too much, and since it's a coop game you don't pay attention to what they say when you're talking with your partner.

But anyways, everything about the gameplay is great, it has some difficult parts but you have infinite continues and well distributed respawn point, so in reality the only difficult part is find a friend with enough free time to play with.

Playing Zelda: Spirit Tracks on the DS: a few months ago I found some patches to play the DS Zeldas with the d-pad, I played Phantom Hourglass first but didn't like the repetitive main dungeon visits and sailing the sea was not fun at all, but Spirit Tracks took the same formula and fixed all those issues and because of that is vastly superior and way more fun, the only downside of course was having to use the stylus for everything, but the patch I found fixes that. So far I've enjoyed the game (I'm around the middle of the story), and I think I would place it on third place my list of the best 2d Zeldas.
