After episode 6, I finally decided to check out the manga adaptation of The Eminence in Shadow, and I think this is one of those rare animated adaptations that makes many unfaithful yet drastically superior changes from its written predecessors. The two confrontations with Shadow's allies were just bland alleyway encounters in the manga; the whole setting feels oddly constrained in location compared to the anime.

Just finished reading Girls' Last Tour yesterday which I enjoyed. The only thing I've really been watching is Nagatoro which I'm actually surprised I like as much as I do. Other than that, right now Call of the Night is the only thing I somewhat keep up with which is actually another one that was a pleasant surpise for me since I expected to not enjoy it at all.

Nagatoro got so much flack for its first episode, which, tbf, was brutal but the quickly becomes really wholesome and funny. I've been following the manga and the character growth is great. Certainly feels like the manga is about to wrap up. I hope it gets a third season or movie.

I've been on a romcom kick.

Binged The Quintessential Quintuplets. I actually liked it, relatively little lewdness/fan service for a harem anime. Each character got a decent amount of development and had good depth added beyond their tropes. I liked that the MC had reasonable flaws. I was about 80% sure on two main candidates by mid-first season, and while I wasn't surprised at the ending I also wasn't disappointed because they had done a decent job of foreshadowing and misdirecting without lying or relying on information completely witheld from the the viewer. There were a few awkward story beatsadded in the movie that just seemed like they wanted to pad the run time or give tertiary characters some unnecessary development.

Tonikawa: Fly Me to The Moon as well about half way through the second season, super wholesome mind bleach. Love having a story that starts out as "adults" and forgoes a lot of the super awkwardness of worrying about that first hand hold or kiss. Great variety of supporting characters.

The 100 Girlfriends Who Really, Really, Really, Really, REALLY Love You a harem parody, MC will meet his 100 soulmates in HS, if he breaks any of their hearts they die. It's ridiculous and I've had some actual laugh out loud smoments.

Additionally watching The Experienced You and the Inexperienced Me the weakest of the bunch but so far it's pretty cute.
