What have you been watching / reading this week? (Anime/Manga)

What have you been watching and reading this week? You don't need to give us a whole essay if you don't want to, but please write something! Feel free to talk about something you saw that was cool, something that was bad, ask for recommendations, or anything else you can think of.

If you want to, feel free to find the thing you're talking about and link to its pages on Anilist, MAL, or any other database you use!

I just finished my first re-watch of Cowboy Bebop since the 90s. It's still awesome. I've actually never seen the movie, and I was going to pick it up, but my wife hinted that one of my kids may have gotten the blu-ray as a Christmas present for me, so I'll wait. That's despite the fact that I couldn't convince either kid to watch with me--apparently they "don't really like 'old' anime." Still haven't asked them if Samurai Champloo is too "old" for them, but I plan on re-watching that next with or without them.

"All I want for (Christmas/Father's Day/your birthday/National Chocolate Milkshake Day) is for you to watch one or two episodes of Cowboy Bebop with me." Chances are you can get your kids hooked enough to watch more with one episode. It's one of those truly timeless masterpieces.

I was binging last week, but this week I've been too tired to watch much. My partner is into The Girl I Like Forgot Her Glasses and we managed to watch a couple episodes of that together, it's a cute romcom with the typical formula of boy-and-girl in classroom having silly daily interactions. We like it better than Teasing Master Takagi-san even though the setup is really similar, because in The Girl I Like Forgot Her Glasses the MC admits he likes her from the start, alleviating some of the frustration of watching a kid who can't even admit that to themselves.

I also wanted to thank @Khue for their recommendation on Blue Eye Samurai, I haven't gotten to it yet, but it sounds thoughtfully put together from your description on last week's thread, so I plan to try it out, so thanks!

It's super awesome that ~tildes by default calls out user references. I got a nice little alert that I was referenced. Promising platform so far. I'm actually gonna check out both of these others...

I'm actually gonna check out both of these others you mentioned. A buddy of mine brought them up too.

I will go with Made in Abyss after it, I heard you miss out on some things by watching the anime(but get incredible soundtrack instead) and plus it continues from where the anime ended.

Yesterday just caught up on Sanda. Which is basically "Shonen Santa Claus in a dystopian future", and one of the weirdest manga I've read in a while. It's not overtly weird and crack-y, it's all played perfectly straight. Genuinely can't predict what will happen half the time.

It's also by the author of Beastars. Haven't read/seen that one yet, but this is making me wonder how wild that one is.
