I'm convinced that on a technical level, the Chinese studios are already at a point where they are competitive with Japanese studios. The Japanese studios still have an edge in that they are entrenched with an audience that grew up watching shows with ingrained Japanese sensibilities / culture, but I can see younger audiences today forming an equally strong attachment to Chinese and Korean content.
